Workers from one of the many operating oil companies in the region lay pipelines along the road connecting Coca to Lago Agrio. Pipelines like these run along sides roads and through peoples land all throughout the region in the amazon. Pipelines across the area connected the wells to the 313-mile Trans-Ecuadorean Pipeline built by Texaco to carry crude to the Pacific. The pipes often times break and leak into local water systems.
