While the EU tries to decrease immigration from Africa to Europe, human traffickers employ more and more extreme methods in getting the women to Europe, where great amounts of money can be made on them. There is a general belief that authorities are less willing to deport pregnant women and mothers. The women are therefore raped repeatedly during the journey through Africa until they become pregnant. Doctors Without Borders confirm that this method is revealed in a significant increase of pregnant women and women with small children.
