Over the past 40 years, over 650 rhinos have been shot by poachers. Their horn is a prized ingredient in traditional Chinese medicine, a purported cure for everything from cancer and headaches to the common cold - and is used as an aphrodisiac. It's sparked a war, with armed park guards out on daily patrols and given permission to shoot poachers on sight - the only place in India that allows this.
