"SYMBOLIC GESTURE"

An Egyptian citizen standing alongside an armoured tank, on Tahrir Square in Cairo, was part of the mass protest calling for the ousting of Egyptian president Hosni Muberak, he celebrated by raising a white dove as a symbolic gesture for a new found freedom shortly after Hosni Muberak's surprise announcement of stepping down as Egypt's president. The Egypt revolution began on Tuesday 25th January 2011, an apparent contagion that spread from Tunisia. The drastic change in the in the Arab world began with one man: a defiant street vendor Mohamed Bouazizi who set himself alight in protest after his wares were confiscated and he was harassed and humiliated by a municipal official . This incident was to be the catalyst that inspired similar action through out the Arab world.
