singer Tracey Lawrence thanked him for 'the ultimate sacrifice.' He
says that even if he had not been wounded, he would not have stayed
in the Army when his enlistment expired. “I hated it,”
he says. “It just wasn’t for me. . . . I’ve seen
vans with seven people in them with their legs just hanging off, body
parts everywhere. And I don’t need to see that anymore.”
