A man possessed by the spirt of his ancestors
conducts the spirt through a small child at Dr.Sekagya's forest school for
tradiitional healers south of Kampala, Uganda. About a hundred students --
local healers, but also patients with AIDS looking for traditional treatments
-- gather weekly under a glittering canopy. Along with the basics of hygiene
and anatomy, students study the identification and use of local plants.
Meanwhile, spiritualists chant, dance and drum to call down spirits and
consult them for cures.
