Peaking through holes in the Cecilia Wahu's tin house, Wairimu Wahu (left) and Margaret Wambui (middle) are visible sitting on the dirt path outside Wahu's house, in the small slum called deep Sea. Children laugh as they run barefoot over the paths. Sounds of children laughing, crying, the smell of human excrement and cooking fill the air. Some 1,500 souls are crammed here into a four-acre plot. Of Nairobi's 3 million people, 60% are crammed into about 100 such slums on 5% of the land.
