"Hot Bat"
A Grey Headed Flying Fox skims a creek in an effort
to soak his body with cooling water as temperatures reach 45 degree Celsius
(113 Fahrenheit) in Sydney's western suburbs Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003. Up to a
thousand from a colony of about 15,000 of the vulnerable fox-faced bats were
unable to cope with the heat and died.
