Ana Melida puts her 11 children to bed in the slum
outside Quibdo in the west of Colombia. She fled from violence with her
family and has to take care of her children alone, while her husband works in
the banana plantations a long way away. He only gets the chance to visit his
family once a month. "It is hard. Sometimes I am not able to provide
