One night in Atil, a Palestinian man appeared out of the darkness and walked straight towards the house occupied by the Israeli commandos. Sentries shouted at him to stop, then fired warning shots, convinced that he was a suicide bomber. Moments later, 15 commandos had their rifles trained on him from every window. A standoff ensued. The man lifted his shirt, but for almost 20 minutes refused to drop his trousers. The showdown ended when he was grabbed and body-slammed to the ground by one soldier and surrounded by six others.
