Loup Langton - Loup Langton is Director of Photography for Copley Chicago Newspapers. His career reflects a balance between creative and academic work with a particular passion for Latin America. Before joining Copley during the summer of 1999, Langton was Director of Photography for El Universo, Ecuador's largest newspaper, and prior to that he was a faculty member at the University of Missouri School of Journalism for six years. In addition to co-directing the Descubriendo Ecuador book project, Langton has taught photography at Ecuador's Universidad San Francisco, been a guest speaker at Universidad Catolica in Quito and conducted a photography workshop for Ecuadorian professionals. Langton has also worked in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. As a Joe Morris Fellow, he photographed for several publications in Egypt and Jerusalem. And, in 1994, he was a speaker at the Bulgarian Visual Communications Conference in Sofia. As a freelance photographer, Langton was a contributor to the "Homeless in America" book in 1987, and he has photographed for Newsweek, Photo Magazine (France), Focus (Germany), the Times of London, the London Correspondent as well as other major publications. In addition his work from Haiti, North Carolina and Ecuador has appeared in major exhibitions in New York and Washington, D.C. Langton received his Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Texas School of Communications. He has been an invited speaker at numerous conferences throughout the United States and a faculty member for the Missouri Photographic Workshop.
