"Arctic Outposts"
Base commander at the American Thule Air Base Colonel Joseph L. Prue. Built during the cold war where 10,000 men where stationed here. The shortest way from the US to the industrial zones of the Soviet Union's went over the North Pole, and Thule lying halfway, was therefore central to America's military strategy. Today, the base only has 550 employees.
