"Fires at night"
The Cocos Fire burns overnight early Friday morning May 15th, 2014 in San Marcos, CA. The Cocos Fire became one of many large fires burning in the 2014 San Diego Firestorm. Dozens of homes were destroyed and at least one person died. The fire was remarkable for it's mid-May date, fairly early in the fire season for California. The worst historic fires have been in the fall, but drought led to critical fire weather early on.
