"Hidden Wounds (Scars from Waziristan)"
Pakistan, Islamabad, Oct 2013: Faiz Mohammad, 23 years old student from Doga, North Waziristan, he has one brother and two sisters, his father is retired and now his family survives on farming a little piece of land.
It was Sept 2008, he was walking aside the road moving to Mosque in order to offer prayer, while a Jeep crossed him. After few tens of meters the Jeep was hit by drone strike. The Jeep and the people traveling on it were turned in to ashes and he also got involved in the resulting blast and got unconscious after a while. He opened back his eyes while he was already in the Sargodha hospital and does not know who recovered him from the ground. His family had to pay medical treatments by their own. Just some few kind of medicines were provided by the hospital for free. He reported two main injuries, on the back and one on his left leg. As consequence his leg became atrophic deteriorating an already existing deformity of his body. He is now 90% disable. Any time he hear the noise of a drone he get paralyzed by fear, he does not feel the same anymore. He feel powerless, and had to quit the studies because of economic difficulties.He never saw any militant activity in the area he lives.
His interest in life is severely weaken.
